MVRHS Minnesingers

Annual donation to the general Fund.

The Minnesingers is a prestigious choral group representing Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. They perform concerts locally and abroad.

The Red Stocking Fund

Red Stocking Fund

Annual Donation to support a family in need.

The Red Stocking Fund was started in 1938 when Addie Crist, a Vineyard Haven resident, and a few friends, knitted six actual red stockings. These stockings were then filled with “something to eat, something to wear, and something to play with” and distributed to needy children on Martha’s Vineyard at Christmas. The mission of The Red Stocking Fund is to provide food and warm winter clothing to children who live full time on the Vineyard during Christmas/holiday season whose families are in need. We serve children from birth through the 8th grade.

where are the black farmers?

Total Donation Received/Sent as of December 2020: $5,279.00

The farming and agriculture industry has historically been a major perpetrator of systemic racism in the United States. It is clear the impact of prejudice has robbed many people of their right to make a livelihood in agriculture; it has disallowed communities to have control of their food supply; it has limited autonomy and inherited wealth via land ownership.

We, as a farm, donated all of the sales of all of our bread every 3rd Monday in 2020 to The New England Farmers of Color Land Trust.

island food pantry

Loaves donated thus far: Approx. 2,000

When the Covid19 pandemic struck our team here on the farm wanted to help. We wanted to help immediately and going forward. Starting that first week back in March, our bakery has been baking bread for donation to the Island Food Pantry. Each Monday all of our Japanese Milk Bread is donated to help those in need.

We have also donated over 150 pieces of our cheese, Prufrock, this year alone.

Thank you to all who have helped us make even more bread than we had originally been able to with your generous .50¢ donations and some of you have even made multiple donations of .50¢ donations. Thank you! Thank you!

Take your photo with a baby lamb

2019. It was the bottom of winter and we wanted to share all the baby lambs. We invited the community to our farmstand to hold and take their photo with a baby lamb. It was such a hit that we have decided it will be an annual Valentine’s Day event!

West tisbury & Chilmark school Lunch program

A nutritious and delicious school lunch is the foundation for the stamina to study and learn for the entire day. Going hungry to class makes it hard to focus. Jenny, the chef at the West Tisbury School, has created the most amazing school lunch program. She sources local ingredients including our cheese, eggs, vegetables and meat as well as products from many of the island's other farmers. Follow her 'Up-Island Lunch Lady' instagram to see the amazing things she does for our kids. Thanks Jenny!

Serving Hands and Family to Family Baskets

Betty Burton is an amazing woman. She organizes food baskets for those on our island who are less fortunate than us. As producers of food we understand that the cost of real food is high. When we can make a donation, we take cheese and meat to the Serving Hands monthly food distribution. We hope that this little bit can brighten someone's day and help to keep them healthy.
